About AnimalsCell
AnimalsCell is an independent publication focused on practical pet care, with most of our coverage devoted to dogs and cats and selected content about other companion animals.
Our goal is straightforward: to help pet owners find clear, useful information when they are trying to understand a health concern, make an everyday care decision, or better understand their pet’s behavior.
What we cover
AnimalsCell publishes information about pet health and symptoms, food and nutrition, behavior and training, breeds, preventive care, and practical pet-care resources.
Our coverage is intentionally concentrated on dogs and cats. We believe it is more useful to cover fewer species in greater depth than to treat every companion animal as though the same level of expertise and detail can be applied equally.
How we approach pet health
Pet-health information should help readers understand what they are seeing, recognize warning signs, and have more informed conversations with their veterinarian.
It should not pretend to diagnose an animal over the internet or replace veterinary care.
When a topic involves meaningful medical risk, our aim is to rely on credible veterinary and scientific sources and, where appropriate, obtain qualified clinical review.
A page is described as medically or clinically reviewed only when an actual qualified review has taken place. We do not use medical-review labels simply to make an article appear more authoritative.
Raising AnimalsCell to a higher editorial standard
AnimalsCell contains articles that were originally published under an earlier editorial system.
As the publication moves to stricter standards for sourcing, medical safety, authorship, clarity, and updates, older articles are being reviewed individually. Depending on the quality and usefulness of the material, an article may be rewritten, consolidated with another page, substantially updated, or removed.
An older publication date should therefore not be interpreted as evidence that a page has already completed the current AnimalsCell review process.
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships do not determine our health guidance.
